ThereforeYou is the blog and creative community for Therefore Productions and its fans. Aside from collaborating creatively and working together on video projects, the Therefore team members are all really good friends. Most have been hanging out since high school, and some met as far back as the first grade. We want to share that sense of friendship with our fans as we invite you to watch and participate, too. ThereforeYou is more than just a our blog. It’s how we communicate with the people who support us.

The History of Therefore
Therefore Productions was born in the heart of fabulous suburban New Jersey, created by five high school friends. Like any other group of creatively inclined students, we were looking for an outlet to satisfy the burgeoning artists within us.
What started out as home video shorts filmed in our basements and on the campuses of various colleges, eventually led to the boys becoming cinematic men! The early days saw the group create both long and short-format features including: Suburban Fabulous, Too Much Joystick, Paramount Pictures Presents: Paramount Pictures Presents, …And the Infinite Sadness, Gorilla Warfare and so many more. One day we see some of these films on the site (although probably not).
During this period of young, innocent and goofy filmmaking, we began to realize that creating video projects wasn’t some simple hobby. It was a passion we all shared. It became apparent that we needed to take the next step and turn our film clique into a full-fledged company.
So in November 2003, armed with a post-modern perspective and a whole mess of daddy issues, the group officially started Therefore Productions, LLC. We spent the next two years working on short films and sketches while working through college. Starting in 2005, Therefore officially started walking the fine line between commercial and creative. We have since worked on an array of projects from corporate video to music and concert videos to documentaries and commercials.
Our goal as a company is simple…we wanted to create original, random, intelligent, and most importantly, funny content for the masses to consume like it was a fried Oreo, a peanut butter sandwich, a slice of pizza, and chocolate cake… all in one bowl.
And what type of comedy will you be seeing from us? Our influences include Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Kids in the Hall, Mr. Show with Bob & David, and the Tim & Eric: Awesome Show Great Job. We also enjoy the stylized, dark humor of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton.
Outside of the world of Therefore, members of the company have worked on extremely high profile commercial projects. Andrew Hymas wrote and produced show for the Discovery Channel’s Assignment Discovery series, eventually winning an Emmy award in 2008 for his tireless work.
Victor Reyes went on to produce commercials and videos for Scherring Plough and the United Nations while spearheading the highly popular webisode “MMOvie.” This show garnered over half a million hits on YouTube. He recently produced the feature film Forgetting the Girl featuring Anna Camp (True Blood) and Christopher Denham (Charlie Wilson’s War).
Patrick Brady has become an accomplished editor and graphics specialist working on projects for Footlocker and MetroPCS.
Creatively, Therefore has continued to produce original short films and sketches. In 2007, we finished in the Top 100 (out of 500) in the American Express Tribecca Film Festival 10 Second Film Competition. This competition was judged by Martin Scorsese and M. Night Shamalayan.
Currently, Therefore Productions is working on a pilot for a sketch comedy series entitled “Bourgeois! Bourgeois!”. We also have added a new member to our company, producer Rebecca Heinenman, who has worked on numerous commercial projects in New York and was an Associate Producer on the indie feature Forgetting the Girl.
