[From CNET] This is the Aptera Typ-1, and it looks awesome. You know what’s even more awesome? The body creates very little drag, making it super-efficient. The diesel hybrid version of the Aptera will get an estimated 230 miles per gallon, compared to the Prius’ max of 60 mpg. If you don’t want to use any fuel, there’s going to be an all-electric version with a 120 mile range on a single charge, enough for one day’s commute. Thanks to a $2.75 million investment from Google.org, this thing might just get to the road. Supposedly it will be safe, with crash tests pending to prove it’s mettle.
