To commemorate the event, we made a video and played it at their reception. We hope Pomplamoose doesn’t mind us using their song for love. The moving faces at the end of the video are (in order of appearance) Victor’s sister, We’re putting together a flyer for our friend Carter’s monthly Horror Filmfest, and it turns out the pictures from our photoshoot had a dark side lurking beneath the surface.
Hello All! It’s spring concert time! I’ll be joining the musical stylings of the Hunter College Community Choir on Monday, May 12 for their presentation of Hayden’s Missa in tempore belli (Mass in Time of War), and Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus (which is just the loveliest little piece you’ve ever heard). It should be a hopping good time, in a classical music kind of way. Why is Napolen looming over Hayden?? Learn, AFTER THE JUMP!
I know this is normally Pat’s thing, but Comix is going to be having a “Friends of the Daily Show” night on May 12 that’s described as such: Emmy winning Daily Show Producer Rory Albanese presents Friends, Acquaintances and Colleagues. Join some of the writers, friends and behind the scenes team
I used to do the trip between New York and Boston a lot in school, and I always preferred the train to driving or the bus. I found it to be the most comfortable form of travel and the only one that I could sleep on. The airplane always cost too much for the trip, and any time saved was wasted at the security check. Trains also give us convenient, cost-effective intra-city travel. How could any 20-something in the NY area live without their precious Subway? For all these reasons and more, the US is having its first National Train Day this year on May 10. There will be events at the major train stations in New York, Washington, Chicago, L. A., and many other stations across the country. The concert will be on Wednesday, July 9, at 7:30 PM at the Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn (9th Street and Prospect Park West,? 2 blocks from the F at 7th Ave.) Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /hermes/waloraweb055/b239/pow.bloodfeast/htdocs/thereforeyou/wp-content/plugins/embed-it.php on line 21 Coming up soon in the New York Area: FOUR shows I’m very excited about. And it was GREAT! Brent Weinbach, John Roberts, Jim Gaffigan, and Justice of the Unicorns gave fantastic performances. The heart of the show, however, was made up of Tigers and Monkeys (with lead singer Shonali Bhowmik), Andrea Rosen, Chelsea Peretti, and Heather Lawless (Who, together, are the SHAC in Variety SHAC). They had standup, they had music, they had video, they had me at hello. It is extremely cool that this show gets put on every month, and I encourage all of you to see a Variety SHAC show as soon as possible: this is an active group and there’s a good chance they’ll get picked up to do bigger things in the near future. I wish I could offer more concrete examples of how good this show was. All I’ve got is this video they showed, some footage from their previous show at the Knitting Factory, and this awesome photo we took with “the SHAC!” Actually, it’s only the S and the C. Enjoy… Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /hermes/waloraweb055/b239/pow.bloodfeast/htdocs/thereforeyou/wp-content/plugins/embed-it.php on line 21
