Some of you may know the ride “Carousel of Progress” at Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom. It’s a relic that was designed by Walt Disney for the 1964-1965 World’s Fair in New York. The ride follows a family through time as technology improves around them. The running theme of the ride is that technology

ROBOTS!

It’s not easy coming back to work after a long weekend. Here’s a little pick-me-up, Therefore Style, courtesy of Herbie Hancock’s electric period:

Rockit, indeed.

Happy Tuesday!

So, uh, who did the Grammy go to?

Did you know that there were 110 Grammy Award categories last night?

And how many made it on air? By my best estimate, 7.

What the hell? Now, I get that you can’t televise 110 awards. It would be downright dull. But there were some major categories left out; almost everything having to do with rock and pop got cut, and R&B only fared slightly better. And if you happen to like jazz, or (dare I say it) classical? Out of luck, my friend.

So, with only 6% of the awards making it to the air in a 3.5 hour broadcast, what did we get instead? A little bit of good, a whole lot of mediocre, and an suprising amount of downright ugly. Some of the highlights and lowlights after the jump.

Getting Feisty

FeistI love a good word pun in a title! Maybe. Hey, Feist is going to be in concert Tuesday, April 29 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. General admission tickets will go on sale at Live Nation Friday, February 8 for $31. You can find more info on our Events calendar. Even if you don’t know her by name, you’ve probably heard a few of her songs. Check out the video for “1,2,3,4″ off her new album The Reminder after the jump.

DD LogoI don’t know how this got by me, but apparently the songs in the “America Runs on Dunkin” ad campaign for Dunkin Donuts are written and performed by They Might be Giants. They’ve actually written about 20 song for the campaign so far. My personal favorite, “Pleather”, is posted below. I love the faces they make and the weird way they move on the seats. The video for pee wee hockey (the song is called “Bleachers”) is after the jump. You can find links to most of the others at TMBG’s wiki page.
